John Maurer has spent the last 30 years working with what he calls \u201cstreet people:\u201d the poor, the homeless, those caught in the traps of drug abuse and prostitution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes it wears me out, the streets are harsh,\u201d he said. \u201cBut the people are<br \/>\nso open with me. They know I\u2019m never going to shame them or put them down. I<br \/>\njust accept them where they are, just like Jesus would do. They tell me, \u2018We love you Br.
