Color, line, form, and feeling were pushed in bold new directions as painters searched for fresh ways to see and interpret the world. This series highlights artists and works that reflect some of the most influential movements that followed, from the luminous dots of Pointillism and the emotional force of Abstract Expressionism to the elegance of Modern Linear Style and the dreamlike visions of Surrealism.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"221\" data-start=\"0\">Held in the cozy, historic Pump House Studio, each evening offers a complete creative experience. Vince Petersen, OFM Conv.<\/span><\/h4><div class=\"w-person-role\" itemprop=\"jobTitle\">Painting Instructor<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_col-sm-8 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\" ><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h4>Friar Vince Petersen<\/h4>\n<p>Friar Vincent\u202fPetersen\u202fis an environmental artist who works mostly in the acrylic medium.\u202f Since childhood, the beauty of the Earth held him captive.\u202f Growing up in rural Minnesota, he credits the shapes, seasons, dimensions, and moods of creation for coloring his understanding of God and spirituality.<\/p>\n<p>Friar Vincent&#8217;s work has been greatly\u202finfluenced by the landscapes of the Southwest\u202fwhere he was involved in ministry from 1997 to 2015.\u202f During a 2006 exhibition benefiting a local effort to preserve open spaces and vulnerable habitat in the area, his artistry was first noticed.<\/p>\n<p>Friar Vincent holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Studio Arts from St. Louis University and a Master of Divinity from the Washington Theological Union.
