Dear Friends,<\/p>\n

Greetings in the name of the Lord from the Franciscan Friars of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation!<\/p>\n

Pope Francis calls upon the members of the Roman Catholic Church to prepare for the 2023 Synod on Synodality. What is the meaning of \u201cSynodality?\u201d Friar Bob Roddy in his article, reflects on the significance of \u201clistening\u201d that Pope Francis is emphasizing in the process of \u201cSynodality.\u201d Friar Thomas Fetz shares the importance of listening to both the poor and the earth. They \u201cgo hand in hand with one another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Synodality is a process of listening and \u201cjourneying together.\u201d Friar Mario Serrano writes about the path forward in this time of the dwindling of religious practice. Who are the \u201cnones\u201d and the \u201cdones\u201d among us, and how shall we accompany them? Friar Mario invites us to pray for the \u201cnones\u201d and \u201cdones\u201d and \u201call who make room for the Spirit of Hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the articles of this newsletter is Angie Donahoe\u2019s reflection on walking \u201chand in hand\u201d as a participant in the \u201cmission of God\u2019s love.\u201d Being present and listening is a sign of love, God\u2019s love. Friar Alberto Bravo writes of the witness of three Conventual Franciscan Martyrs who walked \u201chand in hand\u201d among the People of God from Peru and Argentina.<\/p>\n
