Farewell to Friars – Angola, IN

Farewell to the Friars

With deep gratitude, the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Angola, IN, including St. Paul’s Chapel at Clear Lake, and the Catholic Community at Manapogo Campground celebrated and thanked the Conventual Franciscan Friars for 91 years of service to Steuben County. As with all great loves, it is hard to say goodbye, and there is never enough time. While it was a bittersweet farewell for the friars and the parishioners, the seed the friars planted 91 years ago has grown strong and remains strong, nurtured with Franciscan values and charism.

“You can’t be afraid to fall in love with a place because you are going to leave it sooner or later. The question is are you going to be there while you are there?  Remember wherever you are never be afraid to the fall in love with the people you are with”
