Enhancing Navigation and Preserving a Cherished Sanctuary for Future Generations

Welcome to the Mount Saint Francis Sanctuary Trailmarker Project support page! We are excited to introduce you to a noble initiative led by Paul Bryant, an Eagle Scout in the making and a dedicated junior at Saint Xavier High School.

The Project

Mount Saint Francis Sanctuary, the adjoining wildlife sanctuary at Mount Saint Francis – Center for Spirituality needs our attention. With hiking trails, woods, prairies and a beautiful lake open to the public the sanctuary is a treasured space frequented by hundreds weekly for retreats, spiritual gatherings, and outdoor activities. Over the years, the trail markers and maps that guide visitors through its verdant landscape have worn down and, in some cases, been destroyed.

Paul’s Eagle Scout Project aims to rejuvenate these trails, enhancing the Mount Saint Francis experience for all. His plan includes assembling and placing thirteen (13) new trail marker/map stations to guide visitors safely through the area.

Impact

This initiative carries forward the legacy and spirit of dedicated friars like Father David Lenz, OFM Conv. and Brother Dennis Moses OFM Conv., past recipients of the St. George Medal an award that recognizes outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youths through Scouting. Like them, Paul is contributing to the spiritual and community development through Scouting with his project at Mount Saint Francis
