Support Our Senior Friars
They’ve spent their lives serving others.
Now they need your help.
Many of our Conventual Franciscan friars dedicate their entire lives to serving the poor, marginalized, and hungry—ministries that rarely provide retirement benefits or financial security.
Even in their senior years, our friars joyfully continue serving in whatever ways they can—through prayer, celebrating Mass, teaching, spiritual guidance, and volunteering their time and wisdom.
But when our friars face serious health challenges or can no longer actively minister, we must provide compassionate, specialized care.
Thanks to supporters like you, senior friars can live their final years with dignity, comfort, and grace.

Outcomes: friar David’s Story
friar David Lenz, OFM Conv., spent his life serving communities as a compassionate friar, spiritual guide, and teacher. After suffering multiple strokes, he required specialized, ongoing care that went beyond what his fellow friars could practically provide.
Today, thanks directly to donor generosity, friar David is thriving in a specialized care community run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. There, he benefits from essential medical treatment, regular physical therapy, and a vibrant community life.
Because of your support, friar David now:
-
Enjoys engaging activities, like participating in the handbell choir.
-
Receives regular physical therapy to help maintain his mobility and independence.
-
Occasionally celebrates Mass, continuing his lifelong vocation in ministry.
