Thank you for considering a planned gift to the Konventuale Franziskanerbrüder der Provinz Unserer Lieben Frau vom Trost. 

We all worry about what will happen to our family and friends and want to ensure our loved ones are cared for here on earth after we are gone, while at the same time preserving our legacy.  However, many people find thinking about estate plans to be a daunting endeavor. We hope to simplify the process.

When you meet with an estate planning attorney, we suggest you be prepared to discuss many issues including your current situation, financial matters, family dynamics, charitable planning and health care, and future goals including your thoughts about your legacy. This will allow the attorney to craft an estate plan that most accurately satisfies your needs and those of your family.

Vermächtnis Sprache

There are many different ways to support the Friar’s ministry using a bequest through your Last Will and Testament. Here are samples of how to provide a general gift to the friars to be used for their greatest need:

General bequest language:

Hiermit gebe, vermache und vererbe ich: Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc. das folgende ______

Residuary bequest language:

I hereby give, devise and bequeath [all -or- ___  percent (___%)] of the residue of my estate to the Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc. 

Legal Entity for the friars:

Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc 

Bequest language for a specific amount:

I hereby give, devise and bequeath the sum of ________ dollars ($_________) to the Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc.

Bequest language for specific property:

I hereby give, devise and bequeath [100 shares of XYZ Corp. stock / my guitar collection / the real estate more commonly described as 123 Main Street, Any Town, USA] to: the Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc.

Contingent bequest language:

If my spouse does not survive me, then I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc. [the sum of ________ dollars ($_________) / 100 shares of XYZ Corp. stock / my guitar collection].

Sharing your plans to include the friars in your estate plans allows for the friars to maximize the impact of your gift and honor your charitable intentions during your lifetime, although we understand that you can update this gift arrangement as your needs may change, including a preference for your estate gift to remain confidential during your lifetime.

Ein Beispiel aus der realen Welt…

Being a part of Mt. St. Francis is important to Annette & Steve. In the late 1990s they moved to the Knobs and immediately were drawn to the beauty and peacefulness of Mt. St. Francis. At first Annette found herself occasionally attending mass in the chapel on Sundays. This grew to attending mass every Sunday; and then later on Annette joined the choir. Slowly but surely, Steve joined Annette at various events.  They both volunteer at the annual picnic (now MountFest).  Recently, they both helped to serve cider/hot chocolate to hikers at the pump house.  They also enjoy hiking the paths on a regular basis. As they both settled into their retirement years, they realized they would like to leave a lasting gift to the friars. They want to help the friars continue their wonderful work locally and globally. Annette had a codicil added to their existing will which provides a gift to the Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Inc.  By granting this bequest to Mt. St. Francis, the friars can continue their work well into the future.

The Friars of the Province of Our Lady of Consolidation are dedicated to the formation of new friars. We dedicate a percentage of unspecified bequests to the global formation of Conventual Franciscan Friars.

Schaffen Sie ein Vermächtnis

Sobald ein Geschenk erhalten und einem Spender zugeordnet wurde, sendet das Mission Advancement Office ein Bestätigungsschreiben mit Angabe der Art des Geschenks, des Geschenkbewertungsdatums und des Geschenkbewertungsbetrags sowie eine Klarstellungserklärung, aus der hervorgeht, dass keine Waren oder Dienstleistungen ausgetauscht wurden das Geschenk.
