Brother Colden Fell was born in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in Baton Rouge. A convert to Catholicism, he entered the Church at the 2019 Easter Vigil. Before joining the friars, he earned an associate’s degree from River Parishes Community College and worked in journalism and retail management.
He felt the call to enter religious life in 2020. While serving at his home parish and discerning his vocation, he discovered the Conventual Franciscans and entered postulancy in 2021. He later received the habit, completed his novitiate in California, and ministered in nursing homes, soup kitchens, hospitals, and at the California Men’s Colony prison.
Brother Colden professed first vows in 2023 and is currently studying in San Antonio, Texas at the University of the Incarnate Word and the Mexican American Catholic College in their Bachelor of Pastoral Ministry program. He is set to graduate in Spring 2026.
