Stocks & Other Appreciated Assets

Donations of appreciated assets provide favorable tax treatment without incurring a capital gains tax upon the sale of the asset.

Qualified Charitable Distributions – IRA, 401K & DAF

If you are required to distribute earnings from your IRA or 401K, you can minimize the income taxes for these required minimum distributions.

Wills & Bequests

A bequest is the act of giving assets such as stocks, bonds, jewelry, and cash, through the provisions of a will or an estate plan.

Gift Annuities

Through carefully planning a Franciscan Gift Annuity, you can provide yourself and a loved one an attractive income for the rest of your lives.

Charitable Insurance Policy

Life insurance can be an effective and convenient asset to give to the Friars. There are various methods for making life insurance donations; each method has unique advantages.

Charitable Lead Trust

A charitable lead trust is designed to provide financial support to the Friars for a specific period of time, with the remaining assets eventually going to family members or other beneficiaries.

Charitable Remainder Trust

A charitable remainder trust provides annual income either for life or a term of years, with the remaining assets going to support the friars' ministry.

Real Estate

Donors might find it advantageous to donate real estate assets, because the appraised value is sometimes more than what the asset will net after a sale in the marketplace.

Create A Legacy

Gifts of any size are deeply appreciated and will be stewarded according to your wishes. In many cases, legacy gifts allow you to make larger and more impactful gifts than would have been possible.

As soon as a gift is received and matched to a donor, the Mission Advancement Office sends an acknowledgment letter stating the nature of the gift, the gift valuation date, and the gift valuation amount and a clarification statement indicating no goods or services were exchanged for the gift.
