Franciscan Arts Initiative – Docent Application

Docent Application

Volunteer Docent Role and Requirements

Docents are an important resource for the Franciscan Arts Initiative at Mount St. Francis.

As a ministry of a non-profit organization, the Franciscan Arts Initiative relies on a dedicated group of volunteers to lead tours, help with operations, and run our many diverse programs and events. All volunteers must go through a volunteer orientation which includes training on youth interaction and protection. Additional training may be required for specific volunteer assignments. Active volunteers are asked to record a minimum of 6 hours of work per month, throughout the year with a two-year commitment.

Docents are among the first people to directly interact with visitors. Docents are stationed throughout the Mary Anderson Center Gallery and other exhibit areas and events to answer questions about the exhibits and engage with visitors. Shift availability depends upon current needs.
