The word ‘Advent’ is derived from the Latin word ‘ad-venire’ meaning ‘to come to.’ It is a time to prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Christ and the celebration of his birthday (Christmas).
Retreats, days of prayer, and open houses are happening at our four retreat houses. Please consider spending a little time with us at one of the following events:
Tuesday, December 11: Advent Days of Prayer “Let Us Be Loved by Jesus; Let That Love Transform Our Lives”
Kris Joseph and Terri Mifek
Wednesday, December 18: Advent Days of Prayer “Let Us Become Agents of this Mercy”
Nancy Murzyn and Bob Roddy, OFM Conv.
Thursday, December 19: Christmas Open House, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Looking for a fun way to fan the flames on your Christmas Spirit? Our Christmas Open House will do just that. The Friars decorate the Retreat Center splendidly with Christmas lighting. Edelweiss Bakery supplies Christmas treats and our chef Judy prepares perhaps the best hot spiced Cider you will ever enjoy. Our roaring bonfire and luminary lit trail lead you to Holiday Festivities in our Marian Lounge. No charge – free Christmas gift.
