The word ‘Advent’ is derived from the Latin word ‘ad-venire’ meaning ‘to come to.’ It is a time to prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Christ and the celebration of his birthday (Christmas).

Looking for a fun way to fan the flames on your Christmas Spirit? Our Christmas Open House will do just that. The Friars decorate the Retreat Center splendidly with Christmas lighting. Edelweiss Bakery supplies Christmas treats and our chef Judy prepares perhaps the best hot spiced Cider you will ever enjoy. Our roaring bonfire and luminary lit trail lead you to Holiday Festivities in our Marian Lounge. No charge – free Christmas gift.

Friday, December 13 to Sunday, December 15: Christmas Family Retreat
This annual event is geared for all families. Activities for all ages as well as free time and fun for the whole family.

Mass Christmas Eve: 5:30 p.m. and Midnight (with Prelude Music beginning at 11:30 p.m.)

Mass Christmas Day: 10:00 a.m.

Friday, December 13 to Saturday, December 14: Advent Family Retreat “Prepare Our Hearts” This is a short retreat for adults and families to open our hearts for the coming of Christ. There will be presentations with lots of interaction, music, prayer, and creative ways to make Advent and Christmas a time of faith and joy.

This year the open house will be held in the Albert Leis Room.

Saturday, December 14: Advent Retreat – “Lessons and Carols”
A day of reflection on the Advent scriptures. Time for sharing, rest, and refreshment. The day concludes with the celebration of Lessons and Carols at 7 p.m. in church with a reception to follow. Led by Brother Bob Baxter, OFM Conv.
