For 30 years Linda Boaz has served the Conventual Franciscan Friars of Our Lady of Consolation Province. On Wednesday, May 29, the Friars turned the tables on her.
More than two dozen Friars from across the Province gathered at Mount St. Francis, Indiana, to celebrate Linda’s service. First in the Vocations Office, then for the last 18 years in the Provincial’s Office, Linda has provided professional service, grounded in a love for the Friars and their ministries.
Linda and her husband Terry were joined by family members and friends. Special guests included Cookie and Jerry Dooley who traveled from Terre Haute, Indiana, for the evening, and Don and Peggy Bohl from northern Kentucky, as well as other former and current employees and long-time volunteers for the Friars. Two other special guests were Kate Carrico, who worked in the Provincial Office before Linda, and Bobbie Brickey, who followed Linda in the Vocation Director’s Office.
The Mount St. Francis Retreat Center staff prepared the dinner and Br. Larry Eberhardt arranged for the floral centerpieces.
Br. Paul Clark emceed the evening’s events, and special presentations of thanks were given by Friars Bob Roddy, Richard Kaley, Bob Baxter, and Minister Provincial Jim Kent.
The Friars thank Linda (and Terry) for their many years of committed service and look forward to many more years of seeing them around the Mount.
