Exhibition Overview
“Lockhart’s Fantasies” invites you into the whimsical and profound world of Bob Lockhart, an artist whose spontaneous and determined approach to art-making yields creations that are at once fantastic, playful, and deeply introspective. Meet The Artist
Bob Lockhart
Bob Lockhart is a luminary in the world of sculpture, with an illustrious career that has seen his work enter the permanent collections of prestigious institutions such as the Whitney Museum of Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, among others. His commissioned works have enhanced public spaces, schools, churches, and private collections worldwide, reflecting his wide-ranging influence and appeal.
A dedicated educator, Lockhart has spent over four decades nurturing the next generation of artists at Bellarmine University in Louisville. His commitment to social justice is evident through his annual educational trips to Guatemala and Appalachia, offering students profound insights into the role of art in societal change.
