DSC_0452Joined by family, friends, and Conventual Franciscan Friars from around the country, Friar Bryan Hajovsky, OFM Conv. professed his solemn vows on Friday, August 22, at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio.

During his homily before accepting Friar Bryan’s vows, Minister Provincial Jim Kent, OFM Conv. spoke about the barrenness and brokenness of the world, and how Franciscans accept Christ’s challenge to bring love and consolation to those who suffer.DSC_0384DSC_0447

Following the Mass, Friars and guests gathered for a celebratory luncheon.

Friar Bryan will continue in ministry at the Basilica and Shrine, teaching Spanish in the parish school and ministering to pilgrims who travel to the Shrine.
