Friar Paul Schloemer OFM Conv. is a Conventual Franciscan. A Notre Dame graduate, he served five years as a Naval Officer, and then attained an MS in psychology from Old Dominion University before entering the Franciscans. He received an MA in theology from The Catholic University of America, and completed his theological studies at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany. He made his solemn profession of vows with the Franciscans in 2001, and was ordained to the Presbyterate in 2004. After ordination, he served 3 years as Associate Pastor at St. Joseph’s Church in Terre Haute, IN. Friar Paul then spent 9 months in Central America before returning to take over the Vocation office, returning regularly to Honduras to assist the friars there. Since 2014 he has been responsible for post-Novitiate Formation in both Washington D.C. and currently San Antonio, TX, where he now resides.
