The commemoration of the Transitus, the night St. Francis of Assisi passed from earthly to eternal life, was celebrated on the evening of October 3 in the Chapel at Mount St. Francis in southern Indiana, and at Friaries and churches around the world.
Today, October 4, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis. At St. Anthony, Clarksville, Indiana at 5 p.m. there will be a special Mass with Bishop Coyne. All are invited to stay for a casual and delicious dinner.
On Sunday, October 5, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center in Prior Lake, Minnesota, there will be a Blessing of the Animals. Bring your dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, and other animal friends – (please make sure your pets are held or on a leash) – and join the friars as we give thanks for the joy and blessing of our special friends.
