Hot days, ice-cold drinks, games of chance, delicious food – it must be picnic time!
Across the Province, our Friar Pastors are so thankful for the support of their volunteers as the parishes prepare for picnic season. In addition to the parishes, our Retreat Centers  are getting ready for some weekends of festival fun.

In the Midwest

June

13 – Music at the Mount – Bluegrass and Barbecue at Mount St. Francis, Indiana – presented by the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts

13 to 14 – St. Anthony Parish in Clarksville, Indiana – Parish Picnic with chicken dinners, live music, and lots of games

17 – Not in the mood for a picnic? St. Paul Catholic Chapel in Fremont, Indiana is taking a bus trip to visit Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio

19 – 21 – St. Paul Parish in Louisville, Kentucky is having a summer picnic with rides, games, and chicken dinners

July

11 – 12 – St. Benedict Parish in Terre Haute, Indiana – 17th Annual Community Festival – Family Games, Live Music, Food Booths, Beer Garden

19 – 20 – St. Mary in Navilleton, Indiana – Annual 5k Chicken Run and Parish Picnic

August

6 -14 – Novena for the Assumption of Mary – Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. The Novena culminates in a beautiful nighttime procession from the Church to the Shrine in the Park.

30 – Annual Picnic at Mount St. Francis, Indiana – Silent auction, family friendly games, chicken dinners, beer garden, huge flea market – 11 a.m. to midnight

In the Southwest

July

11 – 13 – Ysleta Mission Festival – held on the grounds of the 329 year-old Ysleta Mission in El Paso, Texas – culture, music, arts & crafts, food & games

Isleta del Sur at Mt. Carmel Parish in El Paso, TX

18 – 20 – Our Lady of Guadalupe in Tortugas, New Mexico – Christmas in July Arts & Crafts Bazaar  – held in the Parish Hall

August

30 – 31 – Franciscan Festival of Fine Arts – at Holy Cross Retreat Center in Mesilla Park, New Mexico – Promoting fine artists and their work, live music, silent auction, special enchilada dinner and beer garden with local microbreweries
