Friar Matthew Malek, OFM Conv., will be ordained by Archbishop Joseph Tobin, C.Ss.R., of Indianapolis on Saturday July 13 in the chapel at Mount St. Francis.

Friar Matthew entered the Order of Friars Minor, Conventual, in August, 2005. He professed solemn vows on August 17, 2012. On May 13 of this year he received his Master of Divinity Degree from Washington Theological Union in Washington, DC.

The ordination Mass will begin at 11 am. Friar Matthew will celebrate his first Mass the following day at the chapel’s regular 10 am Mass. A reception will follow the Mass on Sunday.

All are invited to celebrate these special events with the Conventual Franciscans of Our Lady of Consolation Province.

After ordination, Friar Matthew will begin his first assignment as a priest at St. Benedict Parish in Terre Haute, Indiana.
