Go for a hike on the Sanctuary’s beautiful 400 acres of hiking trails from dawn to dusk. Many walking paths have been created to make it easy for individuals or small groups to go around the lake, explore the woods and creeks, or rest at one of the several benches or shrines.

BIG FOUR BRIDGE

Starts in Jeffersonville Indiana at Pearl and Chestnut Street intersection –  Head out on this 1.9-mile out-and-back trail crossing over the Ohio River starting in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 37 min to complete. 

DOWNTOWN NEW ALBANY

New Albany’s downtown has experienced a revitalization that includes several walkable blocks of restaurants to enjoy an authentic, local dining experience. Want to catch up with some old classmates? Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront will return for its 18th year in 2024. Sponsored by Kroger, the party starts on the Great Lawn and runs through Derby Eve. It promises to have something for everyone – and admission is free with a 2024 Pegasus Pin (which can be purchased at any local Kroger).

The 900,000-square-foot venue will host several Festival events, including the L&N Federal Credit Union Great Balloon Glow, Chow Wagon, Ohio Valley Wrestling Run for the Ropes, HappyTail Hour, Ken-Ducky Derby, Neigh-Maste on the Waterfront and more.

Fest-a-Ville also offers a wide variety of activities for children, featuring midway-area and attractions at Pegasus Play-Ville Presented by Norton Children’s, including merry-go-round, ships ahoy, a giant slide and much more.

From the opening day ribbon-cutting to Derby Eve, Fest-a-Ville will be the downtown destination at Kentucky Derby Festival time.
