Within the Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Consolation no friar with a credible allegation of sexual abuse of minors is in active ministry. The province is accredited and is overseen in all these matters by an external professional group known as Praesidium. An external investigator responds to any allegation and an external review board considers the information to determine whatever action is appropriate, including reporting an allegation to civil authorities. We request and welcome anyone who has been abused by one of the friars to report the incident to province authority.
