From Florida to North Carolina on the East Coast, and from all across the Midwest, thousands of pilgrims have gathered at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio, at the end of the annual Novena leading up to the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven.
The statue of Our Lady of Consolation has been prepared for tonight’s candlelight procession to Shrine Park for the outdoor Vigil Mass. Bishop Daniel Thomas of Toledo, Ohio, will concelebrate the Mass with Conventual Franciscan Friars from all across the country, along with priests from other Orders and from the Diocese of Toledo.
We are inspired by the faith of all of the pilgrims and their love of Our Lord and His Blessed Mother, and thank them for their faithful support of the Shrine and the annual Novena and Pilgrimage.
