Fr. Bob was born in St. Paul, MN (in 1949). He was raised in Bloomington, MN (near where the Mall of America is located). He attended St. Richard’s Grade School and Bloomington Lincoln Senior High School. Upon graduation from high school in 1967, Fr. Bob decided to join the Conventual Franciscan Friars. He chose to attend the Franciscan friary in St. Louis, which is where he went to college at Saint Louis University. During those years, Fr. Bob became a novice at St. Anthony Novitiate in Auburn, IN, professing his vows in 1972. He then returned to St. Louis and graduated from Saint Louis University in 1972, majoring in history. Fr. Bob then went to study theology at the Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN. At the seminary, Fr. Bob received a Master of Divinity and was ordained in 1977.
All of Fr. Bob’s priestly life has been spent in parish ministry. During these years, his assignments took him to Iowa, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota.
Fr. Bob looks forward to leading the people of St. Mary’s in prayer through the celebration of Mass and the sacraments. He also enjoys teaching and giving presentations for the RCIA or other parish groups. In his spare time, Fr. Bob enjoys watching movies, reading, and walking.
